Ieri sera ho partecipato con le mie amiche all’inaugurazione della mostra su Andy Warhol allestita al Complesso del Vittoriano a Roma in occasione del 90esimo anniversario della nascita dell’artista di Pittsburgh.
Un percorso che si snodava in diverse sezioni, offrendo una panoramica dei suoi lavori più celebri come Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, Mao Tse Tung, Mick Jagger, il barattolo della Campbell’s Soup, lo “scandaloso” adesivo della banana sulla copertina dell’album The Velvet Underground and Nico, i jeans della copertina di Sticky Fingers dei Rolling Stones e gli Italian Portraits di Valentino e Giorgio Armani.
Avevo già visto in passato una mostra dedicata al re della “pop art” e devo dire che questa volta ho fatto attenzione a sue realizzazioni meno famose ma secondo me interressantissime: le Polaroid che Warhol utilizzava come base dei suoi ritratti iconici.
Ho riconosciuto alcuni dei personaggi del mondo dello spettacolo e della moda: Silvester Stallone, Michael Jackson, Valentino, Versace, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Giorgio Armani, Grace di Monaco a Grace Jones.

Last night I participated with my friends in the inauguration of the Andy Warhol exhibition set up at the Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome for the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the artist from Pittsburgh.
A path that twisted and turned in different sections, offering an overview of his most famous works such as Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor, Mao Tse Tung, Mick Jagger, the jar of Campbell’s Soup, the “scandalous” banana sticker on the cover of the album Velvet Underground and Nico, the jeans of the Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers cover and the Italian Portraits of Valentino and Giorgio Armani.
I had already seen in the past an exhibition dedicated to the king of “pop art” and I have to say this time I paid attention on his less famous creations, but in my opinion extremely interesting: the Polaroids that Warhol used as the basis of his iconic portraits.
I recognized some of the characters in the entertainment and fashion world: Silvester Stallone, Michael Jackson, Valentino, Versace, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Giorgio Armani, Grace of Monaco and Grace Jones.
